Day One at Cardigan Mountain

We got to Alexandria, and saw the lodge and solar panels. We played games and did an equipment check. Then we started hiking to Welton Falls, occasionally stopping to sketch. When we made it to the falls, we had lunch on a fallen tree. Then, that afternoon we took the Back 80 loop while it rained. We finally made it back to the lodge where we concluded the day before taking the bus home.

I feel Day 1 is represented well by the them of geography: Movment. Movement is the moving of people things and ideas, to and from places. We moved from the HMHS school to AMC Lodge, and then to Welton Falls. The map below shows our movement over the course of the day, and the places we traveled. Then we traveled on a new path called the back 80 lodge back to the lodge. Then we got on the bus back to school. People come from other states to visit New Hampshire, one of the places some people travel to is AMC lodge and Welton Falls. This is a good place to visit with food, hiking, and a place to stay. Some people leave Alexandria NH when moving to another place, whether for a temporary visit of a long term move.
